No. Steer roping is for young people. Rodeo cripples after about age 30 or so, except for a very few.“Bull riders try to keep going for 8 seconds”

I saw a little of the Bull Riding on CBS yesterday and was surprised to see how much protective gear including helmets that the riders were wearing. It’s about time, I guess.

As I understand it, steer wrestling is neither calf roping or bull riding, but where a cowboy riding a horse drops down on an adult steer and wrestles it down by the horns. I used photos from a statue in Fort Worth as a model: http://www.flickr.com/photos/texaseagle/3841182200/

I am sure they got the occasional unbranded one. They had to have a way to pull them down to brand them.

They should have run it in February. Bulldogging was invented by a black cowboy.

Awesome! At the PA Farmshow several years ago while watching the bull roping one of the bulls jumped right over the 6 foot gate and ran loose for several minutes through the lower level. WOW! That was exciting.
