I am sorry to hear that some readers were too obtuse to discern the message of yesterday’s strip. It was well-phrased and clearly complimentary to the generation now, sadly, passing from this plane. I hope your keen sense of irony and your always appropriate sentimentality will not be blunted by those who sometimes fail to appreciate it.
