Happy Father’s Day to all those soldiers serving in far flung countries and, yes, at home, too, in various types of roles. May you have a safe day and remember that though you be away from home, your families are thinking of you and missing you terribly.Think of all the ties and aftershave you could be receiving and enjoying. Yes, these are among the blessings , for sure, as they usually come straight from the hearts of those who love you. Just think of the good times….and stay safe..

How is this Father’s Day different from all others? It’s not. Sorry, Frank, but your kids are normal, average, representative children….

Well, at least greg writes the truth. There is no family unit anymore and kids really don’t care about their folks. All part of the modern day liberalism breakdown while pushing toward the New World Order and way of living a mindless uncaring socialist lifestyle.

at least he didn’t throw the gift back at the Brad & Luann like my dad did one year.it was a box of cedar soaps with bits of real cedar in them. he had gotten mad because he didn’t want anything that was bought with my mom’s money, they were going thru a non-finalized divorce at the time.I ended up using them. now I’m on the hunt for the maker of the soaps to get more.

I think there must have been a time back in the 50s (or 40s) when very bright outlandish ties were “IN”, as I remember a bright yellow one for my dad on which I painted a multicolor parrot/McCaw. I later realized that dad preferred those cord things and bought him a leather bolo with a silver and turquoise bull’s head and silver terminals on the cords. I took that from his things after his passing, because he wore it often and I’ve worn it a few times with a blouse at work.

That’s a great gift idea. Wish I could give it to my dad (he passed five years ago). Mom too, for that matter (she passed in 2010).

Would Dilbert even be appropriate? I never have been able to figure out what, if anything, Frank does for a living.

Ask Nancy—or, best of all, ask Frank what he might like for Father’s Day. Easy!

Don’t forget… it’s nice to give or get a gift, but it’s good to really think if we’re doing something heartfelt, or if it’s just because it gets mechanical, or is “expected”… even the Bible, for example, says that our giving should be cheerful, and NOT under compulsion (2 Cor. 9:7)… so hopefully everyone remembers to show love and care EVERY day of the year, and to be consistent in showing love…. it’s worth so much more than any physical gift could provide, and probably means a LOT more to those that we care about, and that care about us… ==And don’t forget there are single parents/guardians of either gender who have to do double duty as the sole caregiver/support… ==And also, please everybody be safe and careful, including when it comes to driving and the responsibilities that go with it…, and be on the lookout to help you and yours, and those around you, to be safe, as well….

Ha! When one of my kids was about 10, he made a whole bunch of “certificates” to redeem for chores, time out, etc. I tried to use them a couple times, but he was too busy. Three or four years later, he said in a hurt voice, “Mom, you never used those certificates!” And guess who felt guilty….

He could do like Earl J. HIckey and work on restoring an old Mustang or other car with new parts with dad. Then give his dad the keys and let him keep it at his house for safe keeping. Of course Brad would probably struggle with fixing the car and Frank would probably elecricute himself and have to be revived in the emergency ward but Toni would probably save the day and get the car up and running in no time…^^Good one , Donny
