    That term brings back memories..The old timers in our machine shop used to have fun with their green-as-grass trainees. They would tell them to get a sky-hook from the tool crib. Always good for a cheap laugh..Or tell them get some “virgin oil” to lube their micrometer. Or tell them to cut a little more off, “just a c—- hair.” A really small amount was “a red c—- hair.” One guy would ask if the trainee wanted to know “where the horse bit him.” If yes, the guy would show him..I know it’s probably kind of offensive to some of you, but that’s real life.

    Hey, all of you guys commenting on the tricks older workers play on young guys, thanks for the laughs so far. I used to resent those crabby old-timers, and – whooosh, tempus fugit – now I’m one of them!

    Some of the geekier versions were to send technicians off to fetch write only memories and dark emitting diodes!
