After the sadness I just read over on Endtown strip. I needed a good laugh. All he is waiting for is a breeze to float her away on gossamer wings.Then he can get back to doing man things.Like reading the paper. Scratching. Eating. Drinking beer and think about seeing something naked. Taste depends on how much beer is consumed.

X, Happy day after. I’ll go up and peel some garlic and make egg white omelet (Dr did not like omelet “every day”) but heck! The white has no cholesterol (or flavor w/o my Tumeric/Cayenne mix). I’ll have pasta and TVP tomorrow!

Janice has out done herself; this is so far over the top. The girls from the study group are coming and Janice can see the excitement on their faces, the flooder in the air, astonishing, higher than holy smoke, better than any shinny, this beats any of Mrs. Nimmer’s secrets, plus it’s on the front porch for the entire world to see. It’s no surprise they are having angel air pasta and wedding cookies for lunch. Janice is not sure her high heels were made for this, but performance is up and show goes on. Oh shut up Stan, aren’t the guy who came home last month without his pants, well aren’t you???

Happy Day After X! Susan, you and Bev and Stel have no tabs. Fenton and I cleared them up last night. It was pretty much my only contribution to the party and I was so happy to do it, (by the way, Susan – you should really tell the little monkeys that putting edible glitter on banana peels does not make a well rounded diet for little guys, so I am bringing them a honey ant farm)

If there’s a Cagney movie on TCM, I’m not likely to miss it – especially if it’s a movie I haven’t seen before.

I’m not sure how many Cagney movies I have. I’ll have to do a count after I’ve finished watching The Lady Vanishes.

I suppose as often as I watch that station, I should sign up.

I have 16 Cagney movies, 33 Bogart movies.

Well, bev the main advantage of owning the DVD’s is being able to watch them when I want to watch them. I also have Giant and _The Caine Mutiny.

Across the Pacific, Action In the North Atlantic ,Angels With Dirty Faces, African Queen, The Big Sleep, Bullets Or Ballots, Casablanca, Crime School, Each Dawn I Die, G-Men, Key Largo, Maltese Falcon, Petrified Forest, Public Enemy, Roaring Twenties & White Heat are just a few of the others I haven’t mentioned already.

All those old movies! I’d always prefer some of my favorite actresses (but I’d watch the Bogarts and Cagneys with my man if he chose. Nowadays he mostly watches Science channel and History. I just had a show about the early First Ladies recording tonight on CSPAN from 6-7, but they were in the midst of some economics of illegal immigration and I watched that as it recorded (tho’ I prefer to watch anything serious early in the day, to not disturb my sleep). It is now recording 7-8 as I expected so I’ll watch the Grant family tomorrow ;-).

I also did not know that TMC or any would respond by showing requests- nice! I had asked many times for replay on PBS of a pair of light operas by Offenbach that aired way back the year before I started at Zenith and bought my first VCR (one of many Beta).

And yes, I own some of their movies as well.

@Grog, some of my DVDs overlap with yours but I long since stopped keeping track of them. I still have all my VHS as I’m too lazy to get them sorted and dispose. Many of my favorites I’ve since purchased on DVD. My favorite movies are not US made- big fan of Ken Russell and of his best leading man, Oliver Reed (now both diseased unfortunately) and there are a few Felinis that I particularly love.

Time for me to turn in.

I’ve replaced many of my favorite VHS movies. Some died on their own and others I replaced before they had a chance to get mangled in my VCR.

I now have over 500 movies – mostly classics from the 30’s – 50’s and many of my television favorites from the 50’s – 90’s.

Now I should turn in for real.

Me too. I had to turn on a light to see the keyboard. This weather is so darned delightful that I have to have fresh air all day long. I think my new diet may actually be helping with my allergies because just a few sneezes.

My doctor cannot understand how I have so little change in my comfort and life with all these drastic resrictions in diet. It is almost as tho’ he thinks I’m cheating (if I do, I SAY so) and Tho’ he says that people who have at least 1-2 drinks every day can’t just stop and stay off (as I have) it IS TRUE! It is much harder to resist chocolate (which I did at the start, even tho’ I believe the ration I allow is GOOD). I was happier when he gave the OK to that. I have chosen not to travel during this (partly the expense of all the supplements) and missing my man (since Jan 21) is more difficult than any food!

@Grog-one last thing (just read yours): I love following Betty Davis and Joan Crawford all the way from their days as screen beauties to “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane”
