Yup. In war you expect people to be maimed. In a sporting event you don’t expect that kind of carnage, hence the whole “man bites dog” theory behind journalism.
No doubt support it when Bush was in office and then rebuke it when Obama was elected.Very convenient, politically speaking.I can recall GOP friends who denounced LBJ’s war in Viet Nam, but supported Nixon’s when he came to power.
Then he complained about it the proper amount. Like me, he probably would have complained about it more if such was possible.But it’s heartening to know you made such an effort and such a sacrifice for our troops.We, at least, fought to bring them back home to safety.
