Good job Steve, I agree. How can we ever thank them? Glad to see you still have the talent after all these years. I used to enjoy watching you draw your cartoons behind my desk at the Daily Universe in college years ago. Keep it up Steve.
HOW do we thank our police, fire protection, EMTS, and other first responders who risk their lives in the line of duty? HOw about not bitching and whining that we have to cut taxes, their salaries, their budgets (even for volunteer efforts), and retirement benefits they so rightly earn, as proven by such incidents as Boston, and West, Texas.
Having been in that “circle” for decades, the decades of complaints from the “right” especially, and TEA nuts in particular is the constant drum beat, but when something tragic happens, and they respond with valor, these same jerks break out the symbols to clang them and scream “proud to be an American”. (Well, unless it actually costs them something.)
Just a note, please: those volunteers and responders in West, Texas, were not one iota less dedicated or courageous than those in Boston. They just haven’t gotten the press.
btw: also many would say that suicide IS the answer for cowards.

In America (except inside The Beltway) every day is (unsung) Patriot’s Day!

I don’t worry about “Dr. Evil”, but I do worry about more of these “lone wolf” type attacks being encouraged by foreign & domestic instigators.

I’m sure the in the end they’ll tell us it’s society’s fault that these two guys turned to terrorism. Or some such bullshit.
