Why is this news? The PATRIOT ACT gave the gubbermint the ability to spy on Americans.

Sounds like pure fantasy to me, mostly because the government wouldn’t be that methodical and work together that effectively. I’m sure you wouldn’t mind posting your source…

Radish, the attempt was made but apparently they weren’t successful."

“He said the patrol obtained the concealed gun permit list and provided it on a disc, but the federal investigator was unable to read it and destroyed it. This January, the same investigator made the same request and the patrol again obtained and shared a computer disc containing information about 163,247 people with concealed gun permits. But Replogle said the federal investigator again was unable to read the data and again destroyed the disc.”

It strains my libertarian beliefs, but I wish these agencies did share databases. There are too many people f**ed up that should be possessing firearms and if someone is on a mental disability they should have their carry permit suspended and only restored if cleared by a reputable mental health agency.

I wasn’t trying to get in your face about this, I hadn’t heard about it and it sounded like a stretch for two government agencies to share data as such. As it was they encrypted the files in such a way that the agencies couldn’t read each others data…
