When the democrats don’t like his budget, as full of spending, tax increases and smoke and mirror savings as it is, you know it’s DOA. The man is incapable of leadership, he’s a fabulous campaigner and a horrible leader.
Once again, Obama HAS submitted a proposed budget, and once again “righties” will claim he hasn’t, but this time BOTH sides are ticked at these “proposals”. BTW, a little cut in benefits, with a small raise in “premiums” isn’t out of touch with demographics. (The feds are being asked to DOUBLE their contribution to THEIR retirement plans.) However, the biggest single sensible thing is to at least remove the limit on maximum contribution, to at least that $500K per year Republicans want to be “tax free” earner, AND do a means test on receiving SS- Over $200 K adjusted gross incomes don’t need to be bleeding the system.
Also SSI, “disability” should NOT come from the same funding as the “retirement supplement”, which was NEVER INTENDED to be a FULL PENSION!!
Yup, the Obama “proposal” won’t destroy Social Security or Medicare, it might just work, so of course BOTH parties are against it!!
