I’m glad someone gave Mr. Churchill a voice in this.Good cartoon. Both were controversial, both acted on sincere convictions based on culture and paradigm. As long as lessons are learned from what was done poorly,(which will be in the eye of the beholders) they should still be lauded for the things they did well.Respectfully,C.
I did some “refreshing” reading on Ms. Thatcher and did a couple of mental “aha’s,” especially in her insight to the future of the EU. She was definitely controversial for a British P.M., especially being a woman. The attached article is reasonably objective, but I’m sure the Thatcher haters will find fault. As many of it’s ilk it doesn’t spend much time on her mistakes, which were (even by her admission) more than a few. Considering that she was in office for 11 years she was no passing fancy for the Brits. Like Reagan she was a controversial leader, but a strong leader nonetheless. I wish we had someone with those qualities in power today.
When you stand your ground you will make enemies. They may be enemies but they will respect you.I was in Nam. Never hated my enemy. I respected him and his endeavor. Never got the same back but did not expect it. I knew I was there for the wrong reason but reason or not I was there and expected to do a job.Thatcher was one of those grand ladies in an important job. She dealt in a land of male testosterone and stood her ground.I may not have agreed with her but had I lived under her leadership but I would have to respect her.I respect my president although I do not agree with him.
You may not agree wit Mr. King, but why post something so very nasty and even cruel? I know that many of the more ultra conservative on these comments have stated that what you just did is one of the greatest complaints against liberals, so why prove liberals to have the same point against you?
And no, I do not even know just what this “I see dead people….” thing is even about, but if it is also cruel and vicious then Mr. King should not have used that either. If it refers to war, then both Churchill and Thatcher were leaders in times of war. But then that is not to be held against them as almost every leader of people in history was a leader in times of war, and war always results in dead people!
Having enemies is a pointless test for a national leader. Every national leader – heck, every leader – has enemies. All that matters in heaven is how you treated those who are worse off than you.

So did Stalin. It’s a moronic standard.

Look, I’m a devout Christian, and I don’t see anything either anti-Christian or anti-Bible.
