The real, actual and factual issue is not “immigration” which is a legal process that requires meeting rules and waiting your turn. the Issue is INVASION by illegal non-citizens, and includes hopeful workers, pregnant mothers wanting quick-citizenship via her baby born on US soil…..and all sorts of criminals and terrorists and human slave traffikers and drug mules.-We need better fences and more Border Personnel on duty.We need a DOJ and ICE and Oval Office that obeys US laws.
@Stripper77You realize that the majority of “illegal aliens” come here via a legal visa and just stay here when their time expires, right? Building a fence to keep a few of them out isn’t going to solve all those problems. Just remember that drug smugglers swallow latex gloves full of cocaine and board a plane to the states.
When Americans who hire illegal immigrants are fined, penalized, and/or jailed for doing so, those who come to the US looking for jobs will no longer have a reason to do so.If that had been the practice after Reagan’s amnesty program, we would not be doing this dance now.^Quick aside- H1B visa applications inviting high tech workers to come to the US to work are being used to teach these workers how the jobs are done in the USA and then the workers return to their home nation where they teach others how to take american tech jobs. I heard the story on NPR’s All Things Considered tonite, but found another citation.^http://www.workpermit.com/news/2007-05-16/us/h-1b-visa-outsourcing-abuse-investigation.htm^Companies are inviting in workers who learn how to take your job overseas. The southern border is not necessarily the biggest threat.Regretfully,C.
The wall/fence is simply the stupidest and least effective means available, so Bush bought it. Changing back to the old migrant worker laws we had, with computerized registration, legal jobs, tax-paying migrants going back home “off season”, and setting rational paths to citizenship for LEGAL migration would obviously make too much sense on both sides of the border.
Which also, legalize marijuana, and execute anyone dealing (not using) actual narcotics, meth, or prescription drugs illegally, and the cartels also wouldn’t need to buy guns from Texas and Arizona dealers.(they’d be out of business)

Politics as usual. There’s just no way around it.
