Please note, Reagen was totally surrounded by trained, heavily-armed professionals and they couldn’t stop one man with a gun. It is only by shear luck the President survived. Now the NRA wants to arm everyone in an effort to stem gun violence. Yeah, that’ll work. The leadership of the NRA control the world’s largest and best terrorist organization, promoting a philosophy of “Gotta a problem? Getta a Gun !”

That’s a very good question. Why DO you choose to paint every person you accuse of liberalism to be exactly the same? Maybe this is why when I ask what can be done about gun violence, the answer is “You’re not taking away my guns.”

HIPAA is in place to make sure that private health information stays private. Do you want your co-workers to know that you have been researching adult diapers or Viagra on the internet? Do you want a potential employer to turn you down for a job not because of your qualifications, but because of your family’s health history or your gene makeup? This is why HIPAA exists.
Regarding mental illness: even professionals have trouble making that call. And let’s not forget the dictators/despots who “eliminated” their opposition by locking them in mental institutions.
And let’s not forget that many mentally ill people, like physically ill people, won’t go to doctors because they don’t want to hear a diagnosis.
Wayne LaPierre has asked for a Lunatic Registry. I’d put Ted Nugent up there number one. Many others would never choose to put him on it. Who’s right? Either way, he has enough of an arsenal to lay waste to all of Detroit. Does that make you sleep better at night?
Newsflash Darsan54 — The Service was told repeatedly that there was someone in the press enclosure who didn’t have credentials and that no one knew. Had they acted on that, as they should have, there would have been no luck needed, “shear”, sheer, or otherwise, to stop that particular man.
