The cartoon is about a Republican ex-governor who lied, cheated, stole, committed adultery, abandoned his wife, and misused taxpayer money for private gain — and was still elected in a Republican primary. Because, you know, family values. It’s not about Obama, who is an honest public servant, puts the good of the country above party, and appears to be a very good husband and father.

Good one. But you are comparing apples with oranges. Mr. Clinton was always where he said he would be; available during emergency. Mr. Sanford disappeared without any contact information, and without informing anyone of his whereabouts or when he intended to return.

This is, pure and simple, arbitrary abdication of responsibility.

Marital infidelity is none of my business. But shirking responsibility and then lying about what HEMISPHERE you were in….as I mentioned previously: Try to disappear from work when you feel like it. Don’t tell anyone what you’re doing, where you are, how to contact you, when you’ll be back. See if you still have a job when you return. Mr. Sanford should be glad he was not impeached. Running for a position of even greater responsibility, after acting like that, takes a special kind of attitude.
