Good cartoon. Reflects the cynicism in our nation. Who can enjoy magic and wonder when the reality of a divided gov’t and a divided people makes everyone angry and/or depressed? Even most of our movies and tv shows no longer offer happy or even hopeful outcomes.It is still a beautiful world in many places and many ways and people may have created many problems, but each day is a new opportunity to make things better. It starts with a smile, a kind word, and ideas. Showing these things to the children in your lives and take the time to let them know they are loved and good things do still happen is the best way to effect the future.Respectfully,C.

You must have read Alec De Tocqueville Morty. His writings on Democracy define just such a path. He states (I’m paraphrasing) that the electorate will discover they can elect leaders that will continue to fund entitlement funds until the economy is bankrupt and in the ensuing chaos will most likely be taken over by a dictator.
Indeed! Everyone should have to pay no more than a 6% flat tax. There should be no progressive tax scheme, and the government should have to balance the budget. Of course, we’re all likely to see the Easter Bunny before any of that ever happens…
I like the Egg Bunny. But, I would give up all of my future Egg Hunts with all of my grandchildren for Reduced National Spending using a Balanced Budget. That is the future that matters most, to me.
