I’d rather owe – that means I made more money. And I’m happy to pay my taxes. At means I’m contributing to my country and not just being a self-centered greedy jerk.

@cdward – Agreed! I enjoy knowing I’m helping pay for roads and police and army, to educate our children, to help people who have fallen on hard times, etc.

In response to the strip, I agree with Kit Walker that Baldo should file to get his little bit of withheld taxes back. My teen was happy to get his back.

kaecispop: I do not begrudge veterans anything. I do make exceptions for those who came out of the academies and never saw combat up close and personal, yet get OR servants, private planes, and seats on corporate boards of directors, where they help plan more wars for greater corporate profit. The same for high government officials, and a certain ex-president who spent WW-II in BelAire and Fort Roach and ran on personally liberating Dachau when his acting superiors were flying B -17s, manning top turrets, or getting torpedoed carrying supplies (Stewart, Gable, and Garfield).I am a Green and I have always agitated for a platform plank that says, “Give disabled veterans whatever they need, and stop disabling more.” Read what I said more carefully before getting on your high horse and galloping off in all directions..Five boys: Five yard penalty for piling on.
