Doesn’t matter, there will always be something to make things socially awkward, it happens.

As a computer programmer who somehow or other tumbled into the world of professional show business while I wasn’t looking, I can /so/ identify with this.

“That… bipedalism thing can’t be too easy, can it?”

“Being hairless must make the summer nice, I suppose.”

“So, is the small nose considered decorative where you come from?”

Missed the strip earlier this week. Glad to see it’s here now. I need my daily dose of Phoebe and Marigold.

Hmmm, we’ve seen a couple of unicorns with crumpled horns. Does this indicate age, or is this more of a “bumped into a wall while admiring my reflection in a shop window” horn trauma?

Don’t worry, Phoebe, most people stop feel socially awkward when they’re about 70 or so…

Its hard being the only one of your species isn’t Phoebe? Like being a human among klingons or Trekie at a Renaissance fair or the time I did an Extra Credit report and had to attend a seminar on black culture and the importance of graphite to intercity communities.

Also there are at least 6 different unicorns maybe more, I can’t tell. I want to know names! this is just like the time Dakota’s Birthday showed us the strip actually would use humans besides just Phoebe. Also I been socially awkward at meetings of people who were all mostly either older or younger then me too. So any how we have 2 unicorn tails, may or may not be marigold, black unicorn, white unicorn with beard and glasses, Unicorn next to him and Unicorn with glasses and no beard who may or may not be the unicorn at the desk checking people in, then LSH and Marigold. Now the 2 shadows behind Pheebs you can’t tell who they are. I just want names. and hopefully nothing lame. Im ok with dorky unicorns but I don’t want to roll my eyes and find out that there are unicorns with looks and personalities that are too obvious.

Some unicorns have beards and some do not. Logic would suggest this is a secondary sex trait and that the bearded unicorns are male. Is the variability in manes genetic, or are they into hair styling?

That’s a day in my life.

To be fair, Marigold said “Eat with your face”, not “drink with your face,” so Phoebe gets away with it on a technicality.

I’ve always felt that unicorns had many goat-like traits – cloven hooves, beards, horns. In goats, beards are more of an individual trait, not gender specific. Some have no beards, some have wispy beards and some have very full thick beards (these are invariably bucks, not does). So maybe unicorns are the same? =)

Why would unicorns have wine glasses? More importantly, what is Phoebe drinking?

As long as the Chinese one isn’t yellow with squinty eyes, buck teeth a thin mustache and Ws for Rs I’m ok

Marigold seems to be the only unicorn wearing finery. Does that mean she’s the only one obsessed with her looks?

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Baily Circus toured with a unicorn a few years back. Much ballyhooed, but it was a goat with a single horn growing from its forehead.
