When my great-great aunt turned 98, she wondered why none of her friends from school showed up for cake. Her last classmate had passed away over 15 years prior :’(

We have the power to reverse this – I wonder why we do not.

Kids move away, it’s hard to get back for celebrations. I was the only one of my siblings who stayed near my mom, and I went over for every birthday. Except her last, I just couldn’t make it. Sorry now.

My kids always try to remember my birthday (I’m 65), but that’s not too hard, since one of my sons, one of my grandsons, and my son-in-law all have birthdays the same month! In fact, there are three in a row—August 8, 9, 10.

Boy, I’m crying here – I turn 70 in 32 days and this toon just about sums up my whole life. Great story Tiny, as usual.

Having recently “adopted” a senior when my wife became her grandfather’s primary caretaker, the raw truth of this comic struck me as simultaneously hilarious and heartwrenching.
