Kicking dirt on the umpire’s shoes is a good way for the team to no longer have a manager.

I don’t know why he subjects himself to this humiliation year after year. But I guess he wouldn’t be Charlie Brown if he didn’t.

Do you think you can do a better job Lucy?!? You wouldn’t last a few seconds before you are either fired or kicked off the team by the owner!!! The one thing I despise is someone else with much less experience how to do my job when they don’t know what the %@#& they are talking about!!!! I always prove them wrong and they end up making a complete fool of themselves!!!

I read of one umpire who managed to eject Earl Weaver 3 days in a row. The third time was before the game even started.

I had forgotten that Earl Weaver did that. I just remember Billy Martin doing it.

I remember Earl Weaver and Billy Martin doing it, but Weaver wasn’t a manager before 1968, and Martin before 1969.So who do you think Sparky had in mind when he drew this in 1966? Alston?? (doesn’t seem right to me)

    And you’re a useless Centre-Fielder, Lucy.

    Remember yesterday?

    Poor ol’ Charlie Brown.

@jeffh &mpeters. Those Earl weaver stories remind me of stories my husbands dad and uncle used to tell. They were on the cardinals Gas House Gang.
