    You’re right. The Second Amendment is clear on the issue. Everyone should have a right to own as many weapons as possible. If they use them to hunt humans, that’s the price we have to pay as a “polite society”. We can call it collateral damage.

    And that part about “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness”? Sorry about your bad luck. My right to shoot my gun trumps your right to live.

    Why can’t any of these constitutional scholars get this?

    I was highly amused by this entry in the NRC autopsy of the election: -“We have to blow the whistle at corporate malfeasance and attack corporate welfare. We should speak out when a company liquidates itself and its executives receive bonuses but rank-and-file workers are left unemployed. We should speak out when CEOs receive tens of millions of dollars in retirement packages but middle-class workers have not had a meaningful raise in years.”-They expressly DID NOT SAY that current Republican office holders should support or propose legislation or even provide oversight to prevent or deter these kinds of events.-So, we need to really, really decry these happenings even though our legislators set the stage and our contributors executed the process. Really.
