Or we could have 2 minute Drive-Thru Abortions (as your ordering your Big Mac) up to 8 1/2 months pregnant.

Brought to you by the party of smaller government. Out of the boardroom and into YOUR bedroom.

On the plus side it also means undoing voting for politicians.

@Robert landersI enjoy your well thought out posts, but I sometimes wish you would be more careful with your terminology.the constitutional right to privacy (which religious nut jobs claim doesn’t exist when it comes to sexual apparatus) is a conservative principal. So is equal protection (amendments ARE part of the constitution). Abortion and gay marriage, just to name the causes de jour, are CONSISTANT with conservative principals.to call religious nut jobs conservative is a misuse of the political term. Also, if one holds the personal belief that abortion is murder (in contradiction to the bible itself and numerous cultures), then there can be no exceptions for rape, incest or the life of the mother. murder is murder and you have to respect the RNJ’s personal beliefs.however it is against my personal beliefs and the constitution of my beloved country to allow RNJ’s to seize my constitutional rights, and those of others and force their personal beliefs on me or any other citizen.

Yes, ansonia, let’s see you take that muti-cellular, but still nearly microscopic “infant” for a walk, even in a Petri dish! Or, that “critter” with no nerve cells, brain, lungs, or other functioning organs or organelles at the period when most abortions occur. Third trimester is an ethical, and medical question and “problem” even for folks in favor of the woman’s right (as guaranteed in the Constitution of THIS country) to have total control over HER own body, including ANYTHING, “toddler” or TUMOR, growing inside it and depending totally on HER for “life support”.

BTW: DNA markers can prove either maternity, OR paternity of the “individual” even though, indeed, a separate and “individual” entity, AFTER BiRTH and beginning of INDEPENDENT life.

Someone wrote a satirical letter to our local (Fargo ND) paper suggesting another solution: Every woman of childbearing age attempting to leave the state should be stopped at the border and arrested, just in case she’s going somewhere else to have an abortion.

Also, the geniuses who came up with this bill slipped in a provision at the last minute which will shut down a program at North Dakota State University which would have provided education for at-risk kids, aimed at preventing teenage pregnancy. Does that make ANY sense? Stop kids from learning about birth control or even the risks of unprotected sex, but keep them from getting abortions or even low-cost prenatal care when they get pregnant.

Our governor is a misogynist and a toad who buckled under to these religious nuts and passed an unconstitutional law. Hope he’s ready for the legal fights.

yes, the republicans want to keep information out of the hands of the people who need it. That’s why you keep hearing them shout about “low information voters”

This may come as a great shock to you, but I consider your position to be the correct one.

What some of the more religious bible types on here do not seem to realize is that the old testament of the bible did NOT consider a primitive form of aborting a fetus to be murder! If, in a fight between two men one were to somehow cause the wife of the other to miscarry (a primitive form of abortion) then after the fight, the man causing the miscarriage was NOT accused of murder. He was instead to be fined by the Judaic Court, with the fine to be given to the aggrieved husband. The only way the man causing the miscarriage could be accused of murder was if the wife of the other man was to die in the miscarriage process (a definite possibility with the more primitive medical procedures of thousands of years ago). So a not fully formed potential human being (the fetus) was NOT to be granted the same “rights” as a fully formed human being (the potential mother). As you state, the issue is far more simple than some realize!!

The ND governor has signed the three abortion bills, so it’s all official now. To make it even better, he signed them before leaving town and delayed the much awaited announcement.

    Hmmm……….

Instead of arguing about what you “think” the Bible says about abortion. Let’s take a look.

Only one place actually speaks about abortion (Numbers 5:14-31) which says to make the woman drink “bitter waters” to see whether or not she has cheated on her husband. If she has, “her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.”.When doing the counting (again, Numbers) God didn’t consider anyone who wasn’t a male over a month of age worth counting..And then there’s all the stuff about ripping open the bellies of the pregnant women of rival tribes. .So what was this about God hating abortion?
