The original source of Hussein’s chemical weapons was the U’S. Even the anthrax attacks were made with U.S. made weapons.

I remember when the righties were first pushing that one. Supposedly ALL Saddam’s WMDs. ( Not just the chemical weapons ) were shipped to Syria on two, ( count ’em! ) TWO converted airliners. and it was never detected by any of our satellittes. or surveillance flights…but the righties still bought into it wholesale, I used to see post ater post on that subject by uber-rightwingers, all over the web, accepting that fairy tale as Gospel from the Mount.

Just goes to show how willfully stupid the Neo-Cons Republicans were.

The other day, I asked him to back up one of his claims.

He called me ‘lazy’ and told me to look it up myself.

I think there’s a minor misunderstanding here. It appears to me that what David was saying is:

Another Right-Wing Lie ( IS THAT ) Iraq’s gas was shipped to Syria.

“Iraq’s gas was shipped to Syria.”Syria already had chemical weapons. Assad’s Alawites & Saddam’s Sunni henchmen had no love for one another. Assad backed Iran during the Iraq/Iran war & aid Iraqi Shia rebels against Saddam.Anyone who can put 2 + 2 together would not believe reports of WMD transfers between Iraq & Syria.

Tell it to the thousands that were killed and maimed you arrogant bastard. It will be another generation before we recovery from the abomination of the Bush administration. Quicker if the wingnuts were responsible, but then, that’s why they’re wingnuts, isn’t it?

An Iraqi general confirmed it in a book written years after the “fact”. Wonder why he didn’t come out and say it at the time? Think he’s trying to suck up to the righties so he can be installed after our next invasion? Or is he just looking for speaking fees. Or was he OUR general, installed as a sleeper in Saddam’s army?

Former Iraqi General Georges Sada (retired 1991), never saw WMDs being transferred. He wrote in a book that two friends of his who were pilots, claimed to have transferred WMDs. He would not give their names to anyone to confirm his story.Sada’s story & his appearances on American TV back in 2006 were all about drumming up book sales. I’m guessing his pension was revoked after Saddam went down. The idea of Saddam or his top people sending WMDs to Syria is ludicrous. If Saddam somehow survived, Syria would never have returned them, but might have put them in the hands of Shia rebels in Iraq. Much like the claims of an Iraq/Al Qaeda connection, anyone who thinks Assad & Saddam traded WMDs doesn’t know what they’re talking about. The neocons refuse to admit that the whole story of WMDs in Iraq was wrong, so they latch on to any crazy tale that gets them off the hook.

Uncle Joe: Thanks At the time I never got the back story on this, but it explains why Hannity especially was so dogged on this issue.

I am so disappointed in Iraq. Here they are siding with Iran and Syria on weapons movement and sticking their tongue out at Obama and Clinton. I hope Kerry is effective.

Saddam had chemical weapons that he used… in the 1980s!The yellowcake uranium you speak of had been inventoried & sealed by UN inspectors in the early 90’s. He wasn’t enriching it for a bomb.I’ve already addressed the nonsense about the Saddam handing over WMD to his Syrian enemies. We toppled Iraq because naive people thought it would be easy to replace Saddam with a friendly, stable government. Also, there is a lot of oil in Iraq. North Korea on the other hand has far less in the way of exploitable resources… and China may not love Kim at the moment, but they wouldn’t sit back if we invade.
