Is the term “Hoover” still used in Britain as generic for vacuum-cleaner?

@Gweedo: With the number of remarks on here that could be taken with offence, I’m surprised anyone’s left at all..I’ve had cause to be hurt a few times by things a certain person has said (I won’t mention her name – no, it’s not that one) but Ive never advocated banning her from the site..There are a few contributors who’ve vanished, some probably through circumstance, some by choice. I’m sure my time will come, one day..Be good to “varder your jolly old eke” on here again soon. (“Round the Horne” reference.)

I always have “in my own body” dreams.

I once dreamt that I passed one of my exams… It came true.

In the UK “hoover” is a verb.

I have always dreamed in color. Sometimes I am someone else but I almost always dream from the personal perspective. Talk about future sight, back when I was a rookie truck driver, I dreamed that I did something wrong getting into a dock and tore a cargo door off. Shortly later, I did just that. Later, I dreamed of the truck rolling to the left. My accident, the truck did all but roll to the left.The sleeper, wound up at a 45 degree angle. The cargo box was about 75 degrees. Sometimes dreams can scare the living colon stuffing out of you. Often in remembrance.

I’m at the doctors tomorrow… So I might be able to find out whether I’ll be on the medication which I chose to try or not. If I’m not put on it then I can live with it like I said.

If I am then I’m sure I’ll manage.

I remember when my husband dreamed about a plane crashing into the Atlantic Ocean and, soon after, that’s exactly what happened. Scared the bejeezus out of him.

Now what did my buddy Gweedo do? I wish they would stop “banishing” him! He’s been at this site since forever, and he deserves some consideration from the “big boys”!

I have dreams about my dear departed dogs every now and then. Sometimes my departed cats too. They are so real! I wake up feeling like I actually spent time with them.
