in this case, the pain came later – as it was inflicted upon the heathen masses.

Fortunately, my church did away with the bunny and eggs tradition. Glad there are still some Christians who exercise their free speech rights and aren’t intimidated.

bunnies and chocolate eggs were foisted on the public, by the anti-Christian activists, to attempt to lessen the meaning of Easter. They knew they couldn’t get rid of Easter but they are trying to change the meaning of it.

I don’t know…is it that progressives feel somehow threatened, by professions of religious faith? This strip always does something related to the religious theme of Easter, eery year. So the progressives have to say something of a sarcastic flavor…sigh[bTW, I’m Jewish…but I have no problem with the “Christ has risen” stuff]

You Christians are so funny with your weird superstitions. Happy celebration of spring and the goddess *H₂ewsṓs (later called Eostre).

Not as good as some of the Easter and Christmas strips Johnny Hart did, but I’m glad they did something to acknowledge the Christian significance of the event.

Thank you so much for this strip reminding us of what today is all about. For all nonbeliers who make it their mission to try and belittle our Lord and our religion. I used to get very angry at you but I finally saw that your problem is that you are really scared deep down that when you die you will meet him and it will be too late for you. Its never to late to accept the Lord.

    Christ is risen indeed!

And why must non-believers always come to crash the party? And be just plain rude and totally inappropriate. Go away. Better yet, stay and celebrate with us!

To borrow from th liberal mantra… If you don’t like it, then don’t do it. No one is holding a gun to your head. Simply let those who want to, do so and let them be. If ya don’t like the program, change channel. If you don’t like to read it, don’t read it.That what I hear the libs tell the conservatives. What’s good for the right winger is good for the left winger

Amen! We worship the one who died not the chocolate or the jelly beans or the peeps or anything else that was brought about for purely commercial purposes. This is the one strip who I’ve found over the years, that knows and draws the meaning of this season without thought to whether it’s PC or not. Thank-you! Happy Easter!

As the immortal Hank Jr. said, if you don’t like it, can’t you just leave it alone. But without snark there would be no real purpose to comment sections. Easter is about the triumph of life over death, or any other negative/positive duality you might prefer. It’s a day whose spirit anyone born into a monotheistic tradition, including Western atheists, ought to relate to. That said, whatever your religious thinking, this particular strip is very poor in terms of having a concept and then clearly and skillfuly presenting it.

Never confuse Christ with Christians or judge Jesus by his imperfect followers. If Christians were like Jesus there would have been no reason for Him to die for us.

Jesus died, and when he died he payed for the sins of humanity. Three days later he rose again, showing he is almighty and can conquer the grave.

There were “stone age” people until very recently, and in fact there are isolated tribes around the world that haven’t heard yet. May the message of the Resurrection reach them as well. Christ is Risen indeed. Thanks, Mastroianni.

I celebrate the original Oestre – or Spring Festival. The time of rebirth and renewal. Thus the eggs and the rabbits. I don’t mind that Christians took it over and made it their own, but don’t criticise those of us whose beliefs go back further than yours.

Jesus is the great discovery. As BC plods sadly along, looking at the ground, you would think he couldn’t possibly miss seeing that small stone in his path or the steep hill just beyond. (One of those times in life when we don’t think things can get much worse… and then they do…) He trips and slides down, down, headlong into Satan (see the snake in the tree?).

If this were a movie we’d be yelling, “RUN! RUN! Watch out, here he comes!”

But then, out of nowhere, there is suddenly a “sign.” (Heh heh) “Tomb, this way >”

(In life it can be through a friend, a book, a quiet voice that calls…)

BC finds the empty tomb, and realizes it was for HIM. He still has the pain of the fall and hitting his head (that’s important to remember). But now everything has changed. He’ll never be alone again. Or fear the snake.

Do please point to one of my “flat out wrong statements”. My statements were jokingly expressed (because the whole sorry story is pretty-well a joke when seen from outside your cult) but they are a reasonable, if approximate, interpretation of what your Bible describes.
