Check out the statistics for people injured or killed each year from legally owned firearms. I agree with you in principle. “When guns are illegal only criminals will own guns” but the accidental fatality numbers are scary.

Gun control IS completely ineffective for keeping it out of the hands of criminals but it should be effective at keeping it out of the hands of law-abiding idiots who can’t practice Gun Safety. IMO the best option for keeping it out of the hands of criminals is to make the laws so any crime committed with a gun automatically receives the maximum possible sentence, and has 3 times the wait before any possibility of parole. That won’t stop, or even slow down, criminals using them but it will make it longer before they get out to use them again.

I beg to differ. Our population is breeding crazies. These are the danger today. Check history, not Hollyweird. The West Wasn’t that wild. How long does it take for a cop to respond to a call for help in your neighborhood? Please, think calmly; don’t just react.

This is absolutely not true. In the US, more guns are used to save lives and stop crime than to take lives and commit crime. Liberals want you to think otherwise so government can rule over the people, who would otherwise insist on their Consitiutionally guaranteed rights.
