Huzzah!Mornin’ VistaBill, and all!NightGaunt, you were right, and I am happily corrected! My complaints of a few days ago were without merit. My apologies to Team Tracy for my harsh words about the story. As I have said before, “Woo hoo! It’s Dick Tracy!”

In my years of doing the “Jumble” puzzles. Rarely did the clue words, which contained the letters for the answer. Have any direct connection to the answer or the illustration..

The jumbled words we can see are: guest, palace and market. These words are easily connected to the answer Madrigals. A palace and a marketplace are places where a guest could be entertained by these singers.

…..because puzzles are also created and printed way in advance, and Jumbler has access somehow? Or maybe…they accept reader contributions on the puzzle page…..hey, if the Jumbler is named after The Jumble, and Crypto after cryptograms, does it mean Crypto’s smarter, lol?

Good morning and happy Easter to all. Did Picasso draw panel 3? WHAT in the world happened to Tracy’s face in the last panel? Guess it had to be scrunched in order to fit in. Life’s a Jumble at times, ain’t it?

Happy Easter to all, and to all a good morning! How about how the Jumble guys are drawn like the Jumble characters they draw?

Those dorky-looking puzzle-makers look guilty as hell. They must be the Jumbler’s henchmen.

You know, it’s only now with this art team that I can bring myself to read this comic. It’s so much better now than before that glitches don’t matter nearly so much.

I think that these puzzle-making geeks are innocent dupes. There has got to be an editor for the Daily’s puzzles, hmm?

If memory serves correct, didn’t Eddie Nigma once hijack someone’s computer to announce his crime? Jumbler may be hacking the Jumble’s computer,. Then again, wouldn’t they know when it’s not the puzzle they had planned?

Here’s to the conspiracy theorists. With Tracy’s smirk yesterday, I was hoping that he was planning a sting on the mayor’s office. Let’s see: Mayor was friends with Sweatbox, who turned out to be a mass murderer; currently, we have Jumbler who remains a petty crook who doesn’t deserve to be on Tracy or MCU’s radar, but the mayor is pressuring the police… Something’s fishy in city hall.

A raid on the mayor’s office would be really exciting and kick up this story the several notches that it needs.

You said: “To each their own. You don’t like it fine. Can’t please everyone…”-————————————— Uhh, NG, please reread my comment.I said you were right, my complaint of several days ago was premature. And remember, that was my first complaint about any of the stories.

Remember when we first saw Jumbler? Two guys were outside his door, talking about getting work from him:“Word is he needs helpers.”Could that have been a reference to someone who would get him an advance peek at the puzzles?

Pardon me if I’m confused…. but are we supposed to think the Naperville paper and these 2 geeks are where “The Jumble” originates? Not to disillusion any of the good folks here, but we are talking thousands of newspapers worldwide. Unless Jumbler owns the syndicate, how does this work?

Okay when I said “dorky-looking” I didn’t mean the Jumbler’s henchmen Que Ball and Specs. I was referring to Dick Tracy and Sam Catchem. Yeah…that’s the ticket.

Those two puzzle-makers look strangely out of place with the rest of the characters. You’d think they were drawn by another cartoonist. A bit more cartoony, methinks.

You said: “I did and it had smirk and irony written all over it…”-——————————————————-No irony, smirk or sarcasm intended.I’m glad to be wrong about the story, as I’ve been a fan of Team Tracy since they started. On the 29th, I proved I shouldn’t be allowed near a keyboard when I’m in a foul mood, and wrote some nasty remarks about the story (for which I again apologize, Mike & Joe.)NG, you responded by saying I was being premature, and it’s clear you didn’t see my response to you that afternoon, so here it is once again -“You said: “Your are being premature…”-—————————————————————-You’re probably right.I’ve been reading the strip since Team Tracy took over, and this is the first time I’ve complained about a story (I even loved the tales with Cinnamon Knight, and Thunderchild).I also enjoy the Jumble puzzles, and the cross-over (as I said) really had promise. But the whole “Jumble” tie-in vanished after the cameos by the puzzles’ unnamed creative team.My big problem is the reliance upon the use of the word jumble – as a cookie, okay, but in a headline (a VERY unlikely occurrance) – as the key for his crime (hence my ‘jumble’-aya remark).I’ve gone back and re-read the story, and it’s been running for less than 3 weeks, so yes, I really am premature in my remarks.(I’ve barely commented – or read the comments – since the story began.)Mike and Joe haven’t failed us yet, so I’ll see if I’ve still any complaints when the curtain drops at the end of Act 2.And I’ll switch to decaf.

I usually steered well clear of the past sniping, and don’t want anyone to think I’m trying to start it again.(Please re-read my past comments if you don’t believe me.)And you aren’t pressuring anyone to conform. Are we good?

What if the Jumbler is barking mad, and thinks that the Jumble puzzles are secret orders for him to commit crimes? He does the Jumble, sees the answers as clues, and plans a crime that will fit them.
