Don’t fall for that ectoplasm. It could slide on for an eternity. And is that a ghost – or a pookah? No, I Dowd it. Shouldn’t mix metaphors into that Stewart.

Is that supposed to be a séance? It looks like army men with WWII walkie-talkies. The dialog conforms pretty closely to what I have read about séances.

Wow…I guess it’s more obscure than I thought….
And I guess I’m old… cos this joke was more familiar to me than the usual Brevity takes on modern sci fi…
And it’s straight-up wordplay!
The speech is no seance whatsoever, and has nothing to do with ghostsl!It’s verbatim, from Jimmy Stewart’s famous (or so I thought) filibuster monologue in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington”…
With a ghost substituted for freshman senator Jefferson Smith (Stewart) , it becomes a Ghost Filibuster.Who ya gonna call?Bill Murray I guess.
(Late last night, I didn’t notice the ghost was female….probably the librarian..In any case, she’s reading the speech to children at the library… though the film wasn’t based on a book.
But it’s considered inspirational so maybe it’s used that way.)
But anyway… I was feeling guilty for giving it away…LOL.
