My 100 pound and three year old German Shepherd loves for her toys to be in her bed with her at all times. She especially likes the squeaky ones best at 2AM.
However, her favorite is my wife’s t-shirt that she wears and gives to the dog after a long run.
Whenever the wife is away on a business trip, the good dog wraps herself up in the old shirt and pines for her dog mom.
Dogs know who they love. It has been my long time experience that GSD’s bond with only one person and the dog picks it. Everyone else is just her to feed them.
