And any movement at all means the Democrats are proposing more tax increases.

It’s all smoke and mirrors. The below link shows one of many ways our legislators reward themselves for the privilege of dividing and weakening our nation.^http://finance.yahoo.com/news/congress-retirement-package-compares-yours-185406482.html^They get that retirement pkg whether or not they go to work for nice comfy 6 figure lobbying firm. That last is a cynical statement, there are that take nice 6 figure positions as media pundits…oops…there’s more cynicism. The number of ex politicians who take up careers that are altruistic are too few. The fact they reward themselves so well for so little is aggravating.^It is my sincere hope that my fellow commentators have sent at least ONE email to one or more of their elected officials. Hopefully, an email with reasoned opinion and perhaps even a suggestion for a better way of doing something.Respectfully,C.

Yes, disgusting that those of us who work for a living insist that we keep out money and the lazy wellfare clans actually be forced to work.

I’m not rich, but I’m on the side of the rich. You may think me delusional, but it’s all based around the concept of meritocracy. I believe you keep what you earn. When liberals are generating more programs for the “poor” and “middle class,” they are taking money from one person and giving it to another. I pay taxes, and I still have money taken from me and given to people who refuse to work.To counter your question, I ask you this: What gives you the right to take what I have earned?

1opinion, the first thing it tells me is you live in a beautiful state. I have visited the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge four times and look forward to returning. My Va. Senators are both Dems, my Rep is a Republican. I have written to all three of them. All three have responded to most of my emails and ALL of my letters. I have also written to my state representatives and the Governor. Most of those letters are shorter than what I write on forums. The people who get the most attention are those who write real letters with checks in them. That said, they have folks who crunch numbers and they are under the impression of every person who sends a letter with a stamp, there are X who feel the same way that person does. For every email, X feel that way… etc.You may not be “heard”, but you are being factored into the math.:)Need I say more?I salute you for taking the time to write Mr. Inhof. I hope your form letter is better than mine. :)I did get a letter that addressed ALL of my statements this year. I kept that one.Keep the faith. Your 1 opinion is multiplied with every contact you make.Respectfully,C.
