If you can monopolize the properties on the Free Parking corner . . . the ‘oranges’ (St James, Tennessee; New York) and the ‘reds’ (Kentucky, Indiana; Illinois) . . . and get at least three houses on each as quickly as possible . . . you’ll win the game. And then – at least in the eyes of Rat and Pig – you’ll be a millionaire.

I thought the measure of wealth was not how much you love, but how much you are loved. My cat REALLY loves me a lot, when I feed her.

“Important stuff” sounds like an oxymoron. But I do like Pig’s honesty as to his understanding of wealth and rich people.

You’re rich when you don’t worry about how other people live, no matter what they have and you don’t.

From my point of view(I work in health care) you are “RICH” when you have few health issues for this enables you to do many things that others can not do.

The best things in life are indeed free – however, you need to possess wealth to enjoy them.

the rich don’t feel rich. they always want more. envious of other people’s stuff, and many of them covets their neighbor’s wife.

The most envious and covetous people don’t seem to be the rich. The anti-austerity riots in Europe are just one example.

    F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway were having a drink, that should be more than one drink, when Scotty said to Papa, “Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me.” “Yeah, they have more money!”

Apparently, we are rich whenever the government SAYS we are rich – so they can take more of said riches.

Pig doesn’t seem to understand the game of Monopoly either. The object of the game is to own property, not tokens.

I think you are reversing Bruno’s comment. I read it as, “the less you owe, the richer you are.” You seem to be reading it as the opposite.

Boardwalk and Park Place don’t usually help me a lot. They’re too expensive to develop, and people don’t land there a lot. If I can get the light blue set fairly quick, I can build them up and keep other people poor. The oranges would be my next target. Pretty good chance someone coming out of jail will land on one.

You can’t have all the tokens unless you’re playing Monopoly Solitaire. It’s the properties you want, not the tokens.

If everyone is done with their political debates (when did GoComics become a site for politcal debates, anyway?), I would like to point out that Pig did forget one other token—the horse and rider token.
