I think the U6 number is under-reported, but not under-counted.I agree that there are far fewer jobs that pay a decent wage. When we had a large base of good paying jobs in manufacturing, we thrived. Those jobs were relatively low skill. A much smaller number of manufacturing jobs are coming back, and they require much higher skills. If we want to restore our working middle class, we need to think about paying people in the service industry more. That’s where the jobs are.I don’t see Ron, Rand or Rayn Paul being a solution. The manufacturing jobs did not become decent paying jobs until workers, helped by labor-friendly government policies, put pressure on the factory owners.
