Carl Rove left DC in disgrace and yet he made a comeback. I guess his brand of political nastiness is back too!

Chris Matthews and Rev. Al both spent a lot of time talking about her last night. She will be the most beautiful Senator.

Sorry, Howie, It was a Republican war. Bush and Cheney pushed for it, Murdock plastered support for it everywhere he could and drowned out the opposition with as much rhetoric as possible. The Democrats who voted for it were cowards, afraid that because of the climate created by the right wing media machine they would lose their seats in the next election and give way to a Republican super-majority. It was a political gamble that made them look even weaker with their “I was for it before I was against it” routine and allowed a Bush victory in 2004. Had they voted their conscience, the war may have still been fought, but the debacle would have clearly been at the feet of Bush and Cheney, and you probably would have had a Democratic President with a majority in both houses by 2005.To be honest, it is the reason that, with the exception of Obama, I have not voted for a Democrat in any election since 2004. I actually vote Independent or Republican for Senate and House races, and strictly Independent for state races.

Perhaps it’s time to ask the question about whether we are fanning the anti-US flames by staying involved. Anything we do can be used to blame us for something, and torturing prisoners, urinating on the Quran, and other behaviors will make even moderates turn against us.

And how do we handle Syria. The head of the Syrian rebels (the one group which will talk to us) essentially said, “Screw you guys. We don’t need food and humanitarian aid. We need guns and ammo.” bin Ladin redux?

A lot of people believe Ronald Reagan was the best president ever. He was also a “fairly good entertainer”, and showed even better acting chops as a president than as an actor. For instance, he managed to convince the country that he promoted “family values”, although he had four children by three wives. Many people thought he was an outstanding citizen, but more of his cronies and cabinet appointments went to prison than those of any other president—-yes, including Bill Clinton.

And, for the thousandth time, Obama is not a socialist. Check with any socialist, and they’ll tell you. Please find another perjorative name for him; there are plenty that apply, so no need to make one up and continue it.

“Oh—you mean the war that Congress (Republicans and Democrats) voted to enter, masters? It wasn’t just Republicans, krain.”You may have forgotten who decided who backed Ahmed Chalabi and his pile of lies, but I haven’t. I’d love to see every single fool who voted for the Iraq invasion out of office. You, on the other hand never seem to have had a problem with the mess Bush created. You just hate seeing blame correctly placed.

“All of their attacks were retaliatory.”Some attacks have been direct retaliation, but it’s naive to think the extremists would give up violence even if we withdraw every American soldier from the Middle East. There are some who believe they are called to establish a global caliphate.

’ I find it quite strange.‘I think I’ve mentioned before how difficult I have found it to separate the idea from the person, hence why I have on occasion (or is that often? :-s) given up and attacked the bloody fool. I admit mea culpa. Then again, I recognise that I am often maligned as being aligned with certain groups simply because I have questioned a bigoted attack against them based purely on association with a religion despite being non-religious myself. (I mean, just because the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a noisy slurping deity, when accompanied with a half decent sauce, doesn’t mean one has to hate all pasta!)
