The 1st panel makes sense. If the partisan bickering could just stop and they could lay out the cards on the table And say “I will give you this, if you give me that”
And now Paul Ryan wants to replace Obamacare with “patient centered” health care. A name change? Or another voucher plan? Rhetoric does not a plan make.
The cartoon expresses an ideal that seems unachievable under current election rules. The “retirement” pkgs legislators get after they leave Washington just add insult to injury. An entertainer stated a couple of years ago that the democrats had become Reagan “Republicans” and the GOP had become insanely conservative. that’s the polite way to put it anyway. Had more real liberals not been so disappointed by Mr. Obama’s failure to be a true liberal president, the results of the 2010 elections would have been vastly different; and, had the GOP been more moderate and inclusive, the results of the 2012 election would have also been vastly different. In their efforts to appeal to narrow bases, both parties are failing the majority of their people and in doing so, create division among some, and apathy among others.Respectfully,C.
America Shmamerica. What the GOP cares about is the GOP. Period. They can’t stand to see America succeed under a Democratic president, and will work as hard as they need to make sure it doesn’t.
All parties involved in talks to bring about a resolution need to grow up. After the nice gains recently made in the markets & seeing our 401K’s going up I’d hate to see it flushed away over petty party politics. While unemployment is finally coming down & companies are making money we can’t afford to let these budget sequester cuts stand or we’ll be in a new recession before too long.
I see most of the commenters are liberals who swallow everything the liberal news media is feeding them. It is Obama, not the Republicans, that wants it all and just pretend to want a compromise. Obama is a self-proclaimed liar (he said so himself in an interview on TV). How can you trust anything he says or does?
The Republicans want a decrease in spending, and are willing to compromise with a decrease in the spending increase. It is the Democrat party, not Republican, that refuses to compromise.
My advice is to start getting your news from a reliable source, not the Obama fan club.
Clark Kent: You might as well join the Greens. We are the only party left that wants that, although what’s left of the Socialists do too. Although we have quite a load of local and regional office-holders, at least they have a Senator, even if he isn’t permitted to have a party identity.
Mitch McConnell quoted just after the 2008 election that his number one job was to make sure Obama was a one term president. Don’t ask for sources YOU know are out there. Just Google the damn thing! And Obama, or any other president can’t “pass” a budget. And if House Republicans would get real with theirs, instead of sticking in poison pills they KNOW can’t pass the Senate, we might HAVE a budget! AND a better recovery!
‘If you can’t come back with proof, then I win. hahaha.’
Gosh, I must on a straight winning streak because you’ve always run away when I’ve asked you to provide sources and when I’ve shown up the fallacy of some your posts in past threads. You should really practice what you preach.

Unfortunately, the second panel makes sense. What the Republicans have stated they really want is for Obama to fail. So there’s no way.

EXACTLY right. 100%. The GOP wants ONLY what it wants. Period. That’s why they are such failures.
