Since when are ladybugs a garden problem? Aphids (which ladybugs destroy) are a garden problem.

The only bad thing about lady bugs is that theyleave an unpleasant smell on your hand if yousqueeze them.

I found a snake in a backyard one time. Definitely did not have the same reaction Jon is having right now.

Some 30 years ago or so, we had a plague (can you call it a plague if they are ‘good’ insects?) of ladybugs in my home town. I came home one day to see the front of the house, the path, the door, almost covered. It was impossible to walk up the path without crunching the poor things, though I did try. In their many thousands, they’re not quite as cute though.

Ladybugs can be a problem when they try to get into your house to spend the winter months. They don’t like being cold. Sounds like poor Jon has a fear of insects in general. Wait until he sees a Praying Mantis. lol

Don’t worry, Jon. The big black- and- yellow garden spiders will eat the ladybugs.

There are some bugs that look like the helpful LadyBug and they bite and smell like dirt. Lady bugs do not bite nor do they stink.

Live Ladybugs are actually sold at our local garden centers here. They’re a friend to us, but they’re not a friend to aphids.

My granddaughter won’t go down her slide if there are even tiny bugs on it, and her boy cousins were afraid of dead bugs. It’s a scary world out there I guess. ;)
