Good morning, Vagabonds. Nice to see you back, Slim. This morning I went about fixing and organizing things in my apartment, reading newspaper articles so I can dispose of them, copying my VHS tapes to DVDs, untila friend called and offered me a ride somewhere. I accepted a ride to a bus stop and took the bus to Walmarts, where I bought a combo answering machine/telephone – now I must return the 2 other phones I bought (not combos) to Walgreens and radio Shack>

Tomorrow I plan to go to a lecture on nutrition at the senior center followed by a light excersize(sp?) session. Oh, today I did tread water for 45 minutes.

Ga dai mates..Right around freezing, and snow. (sigh).I sometimes wonder if Wal*Mart is a good thing when other stores like Ames, Zares and Riches go by the way.Since Ames closed we have to go way out of the way to shop, and there’s nothing but Wal*Mart to go to.We’er hopeing to have a Wal*Mart in Newport, if the NIMBY can cut it out..This rant has been brought to you by me..Nice to hear from you again Slim. We all have trials and tribulations in the internet landscape. Drives me nuts. (yes I know, it’s just a short walk).ttfn

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

    Welcome back, Slim.

dkram: we had a literal NIMBY in Riverside a few years back. Home Depot had purchased most of a huge parcel of land from a bunch of different landowners, but there was one guy who would not sell for sentimental reasons. Various court hearings and lawsuits later, he was allowed to keep his home, but Home Depot had to build a block wall all the way around his property to keep it isolated from the HD parking lot. It is still there, but now the guy wants to sell and can’t find a buyer at the price he wants. Even HD is only offering half of his asking price. After all, they would have to demo the house and the wall, just for a few more square feet of parking lot.

Another rotten day. Rainy, raw, and temp in mid 40s. Will spring ever get here?

Another beautiful day here. Peaked at about 80 and I had the windows open to the breeze all day. Love it!
