Begining to sound better for the whole gang. Well, I have to admit that I would probably gag at bugs, even chocolate covered grasshoppers. I read in Mark Trail’s cartoon today that the pig like ??goyra, that is a rodent is used for its fur, but are now being considered for food. Rats, bats, worms,NONONO, but this is not the same thing. They are going to have to except it. and Blessings on them.Blessed Be

When Jacob is the voice of reason, you really need to step back and try rewording the question.

Remember kids…just because Jacob J is behind the idea doesn’t make it a bad idea. He is not neccessarily evil, just doing what he believes is right.

    Flask. Was. Right.

“By-products” is the term to use and stick with, as long as they establish it as the by-products of living, unfettered mutants. They want to make sure no mutant bodies or body parts are used and no cage farms are created.

Dang! Must be a blue moon out tonight; I actually got one right! I knew Jake would be in favor of this idea. I know politics makes strange bedfellows, but Wally and Jake? Wow! ;-)

Sadly, newspaper crusades against well armed juntas tend to end with smashed presses and imprisoned journalists. This is about to get ugly.

I suppose it was inevitable that Jake Jackrabbit would use the reaction to the High Council’s agenda to push his own. (Never mind about Allgood—-they probably don’t know about him yet.)

    Two issues here.

Is it moral to consume something that comes from a sentient being’s body? Or if you look deeper down, should a small minority tell the rest of society what is moral and be allowed to enforce that morality?

What is the high council’s agenda? Or more like how did the government become authoritarian? Assuming it was a demarchy to start with.

I don’t see the problem with by-products. Obviously Maud is lactating independent of if her milk is used or not. Why isn’t she allowed to do with it as she likes? I understand the fears of peer pressure to “produce” a by-product, but healthy adults must be capable of handling this. If someone is uncomfortable with his by-product used then he/she has the right to dispose it as he/she like. Plain simple.

Not to pick but Jake was and is not a bad character. He just wants mutants to accept what has happened and embrace themselves. His rhetoric however was a bit over the top when we first met him. Too much enthusiasm. Changing names and such. The idea was good but just too much at one time. The paper does need to make a stand one way or the other. There is no middle ground here other than to say and do nothing. At least they see the Council as the problem not the Rats. Just before they go they better have the “ducks” in a row and prepare for retaliation. The council will not stand for back talk. If Allgood and his cronies feel the tide is turning by influence from the paper they will strike to take out opposition. After all WHO owns the newspaper? What if it is a follower of Allgood? Remember we have no idea how many actually side with his beliefs and what they may control. And we still do not know the Head of Security. That one person may be the fulcrum to the entire operation. Success or failure could rest on how this one person acts.

Yes, he was back then. Do you not feel that his rhetoric may have changed? Give him a chance. That was then this is now. You are pre-judging. Has not some one given you second chance? He is not as bad as Allgood by no means. I feel from Allgood at first to make using by products illegal, then build the ghettos to shove all “by-product” making mutants in. Segregation. Jake’s agenda did not include this he just wanted ALL to change mainly your name to match your character. Yes he was mean to Cooper, I would say he was more insensitive than mean to Cooper’s condition. Jake wanted all to accept the mutant condition and drop the human names in favor of what they are. All Cooper asked is what if don’t know who you are. Jake was very insensitive to Cooper’s condition and this lead to some others objected at name changing. Yes his swing was too far one way but no where near as far as Allgood. Jake is capable of finding the common ground for all. Sure he is entitled to his opinion but he never took over the council to FORCE his agenda. Jake’s only mistake was to remove Cooper from HIS meeting. He found Cooper (Jake opinion) disruptive. Like I defend the Rats I will defend Jake till he shows me otherwise. The past is just that, the past. Let it go and move on forward. If you keep looking back you will never see the bridge is out ahead of you.I guess that is the optimist in me that someone can change if given a chance. I that learned a long time ago.We can agree to disagree.Just remember if Jake turns out to be a good guy, I told you so. If not then you told me so. But I would much rather have him on my side than on Allgood’s.

If Endtowners want to learn about Topsiders and their agenda all the need to do is ask Linda. BUT Linda is sworn to secrecy, to not say anything. I believe it is to protect her from retaliation even though she has become one of the mutations. The three months she was held I imagine a ton of information was retrieved from her. That info would help Endtowners like Jake understand that even Typhoid Marys are marked for termination just like mutants are. Lots of barriers can be broke down here if ALL the information comes out. Mutant by products usage, acceptance of the usage, Topsiders among them. Imagine Linda on the stand openly stating she was a Topsider before mutating. How would the common folks of Endtown think about that? Info gets out about Flask being a Topsider and risking her life to protect them? (Obvious other reason but she was still trying to protect Endtown)After all this Endtowners may feel ignorance is bliss.Tip of the ice berg ahead and the Endtown ship is headed for it.

When we moved to Texas my dad fell head over heels in love with Menudo. It is good when some one knows how to make it. Not this was confusing to me as my dad complained back in the Depression eating beef tripe as they could afford very little back then.Menudo is made with beef tripe. I had confusion as to tell him or not. I just left it alone. I learned if it tastes good and is good for you knowing all about it can sometimes just ruin it.

Rejoice New Yorkers,A judge has ruled the ban on sugary soft drinks is not legal. I know they are not the most healthy but we have enough government no need to regulate if I want a large Pepsi or not.Just on a side note.(Is there a sugary drink by product made by mutants???)(Endtown has worms what ELSE do they have? Aphids?)(Just letting my brain wander, I am sorry, I will go try to catch it.)

I am not a fan of Jacob Jackrabbit, but right now the good guys need all the help they can get. In spite of his own agenda, his influence over the people who attend his meetings can give the High Council a run for their money.Besides, anyone who has the means to support the community, especially in these post-apocalyptic times, should be able to do so without fearing for their lives.
