A totally nihilistic view could put a bad day into perspective, I guess.

It makes me laugh when I watch one of those disaster shows on History or Science channel about the end of our world, when the sun dies out.

All the scary music, as if it were going to end pretty soon. It does make you feel as if it was going to happen any day now, so be prepared. Stock up on extra batteries, and candles, and bottled water.

The way Calvin sees it, we are all in for billions of years of pointlessness.

Calvin a philosopher? A bit nihilistic but at least he’s thinking, which is more than most people achieve.

Hobbes – again great relevant comics. I leave the big picture thinking to the Calvin’s of the world. One day at a time is all I can handle.

If we make the planet unlivable for us, the planet will support the evolving survivors. We have to do something to kill a few million years time until it happens.

You’re worried about stuff that isn’t likely to happen to you in particular for another eighty years or so, Calvin? Why can’t you make the most of now?

And the universe is not going to collapse, as was believed at the time this was drawn. It will expand faster and faster until all the atoms in the universe are ripped apart. So cheer up.

Calvin has been the ‘man of the hour’ for ages now with his long speeches.

Let Hobbes be in the centre of the limelight for a change.

The next thought that follows is: Party today for tomorrow you die. Calvin does not know about the joy of having grandchildren.

@TrulyEpic0914: I use HTML to put comics in the chat box. Here is an example, showing how I posted the Garfield strip today:< br>< a href=“http://assets.amuniversal.com/019098805f75012ee3c100163e41dd5b”>Click here: Garfield (January 16, 2003)< /a>< br>< img src=“http://assets.amuniversal.com/019098805f75012ee3c100163e41dd5b?width=350” alt=“Garfield (January 16, 2003)”/>< br>< br>You have to omit the space after each <The part in quotes is the GoComics image address. To find it, right-click on the strip after it is opened in GoComics.HTML is difficult to use, because a wrong character, missing character, extra space, etc. can cause you not to get the correct results.

The pessimist looks at life and sees inevitable death. The optimist looks at life, and sees a priceless gift each moment in which to act.
