David, I saw the ad again on another site this afternoon, but haven’t seen it on GoComics again. At least not that particular photo. The “Better Than Craigslist” ad was there, just with another photo that wasn’t quite as bad, but almost. I did submit a screen shot and the URL to GoComics to help them get rid of it. That URL was somewhere around 150 characters long, I kid you not! When I typed it out in the email, I had to use paragraph breaks because it was too long to be seen on a single line and it took up three lines.

Good morning, Vagabonds. When I was a kid I wanted to be a cartoonist. I just found a cartoon I wrote about 15 years ago. I’m sorry I can’t include the accompanying pictures, but I’m not that great an artist anyway – I used stick figures.. Here’s the dialogue:

HE: I have to put stamps on these envelopes so I can pay my bills by mail.

SHE: Why don’t you use the pretty commemorative stamps instead of those ordinary, ugly stamps?

HE: It’s only to pay bills!! The clerks who receive the mail just open the envelopes, throw them out and register the checks.

SHE: I disagree! I think a nice stamp on the envelope would brighten the clerk’s day and show you care about his/her feelings.

HE: i’m tellin’ ya it wouldn’t matter to the person who opens a thousand envelopes a day.

SHE: All the more reason. A nice stamp shows you care about them as human beings.

HE: (At the Post office window): 20 nice, colorful stamps, please.

Morning, Village.Jan, you could have copy/pasted the URL. Much easier. Tell ya what, I’ll Google search the ad later when I have more time.

    Arye, cute.

Arye, thanks for sharing! that is very good! My brother is an excellent artist and I’ve always hoped to write a graphic novel and have him do the art.

Good day mates..The First Day of Spring. yaaaahh.Every tree is frosted with snow. The main storm is gone, but there are suppost to be a few more waves coming through..I had what I thought would be good for a toon. The title would be “Up and Down” about an angle and a devel.I even made a few drawings. One in which in the first panel Down is getting mad and breathing fire, panel two you see Down standing in a hockey goal in water, Up is hovering above the water saying “Nice going Down, NOW how are we supposed to play hockey.”Down was a Hot Stuff (if you remember hot stuff) type of devel, and Up was your standerd angle..Like Arye I’m not such good artist..Have fun..ttfn

    Good Morning, Everyone,

We have such talent in this group! Good jokes, *Arye and Mark!. I am humbled in your presence!

All the talent I have right now is in photography. I get such a kick out of having some of my shots show up on the evening news. :)))
