MARY WORTH: In a diplomatic andvery clever way Mary is acting like a shadchen and making a shidach. “Shadchen” is a Yiddish word for someone who arranges marriages. “Shidach” is the act of doing it. Let’s hope something will come of this and free daughter from the clutches of grumpy mother.
REX MORGAN: I hope someone will realize that something serious is happening to Milton and arranges for an ambulance at the landing spot.
SUNDAY PHANTOM: ???????REX MORGAN: @Arye: I think you are right about Milton – a heart attack can mimic indigestion. MARY WORTH: @Arye: Do you think the prospect of grandchildren could put a smile on Elinor’s face? APT 3-G: Margo & Grey turn into “blue people.”
Phantom – I agree with David. Would that end the daily strip, too?Rex – How is Abbey someone for Sarah to play with, or is there a child Abbey? It will be a while for baby brother to be a playmate and they may never be because of the age difference. Milton- I mentioned a heart attack yesterday.Judge Parker – Is the judge heading for the same fate as Milton? Too much work and stress.Mary Worth – Tom looks much younger and blonder, now that he isn’t sick.Crankshaft – A real “tree-hugger” .
Phantom I’ll agree with Marvee & David. No way P is dead.Rex Abbey is the Morgans’ dog.Crankshaft Why would he want to save a tree that is diseased and ready to fall over? Sentiment aside, the tree could do a lot of damage both to power lines and to the house if it fell in the wrong direction.
Phantom: I wouldn’t mind having one of the twins become the 22nd Phantom in the Sunday edition while Kit Walker remains the Phantom in the weekday strip
EDGE CITY: More commentary on books today and the demise of book stores. I have seen my local library staff taking boxes of books out to the dumpster in the parking lot. It’s a bookapocalypse!
Rex – LOL I was thinking of Abby in Judge Parker.Edge City – I heard yesterday of a woman in California who picks up boxes of books being thrown away by libraries and takes them to a disadvantaged area of town to replenish school libraries or give to children who have no books in their homes. Our local library has book sales twice a year of books donated or weeded from their stacks. I don’t know what happens to those that don’t sell.
