There is a page on this website where political comments are posted…the editorial cartoons page (or those comics that have a distinct political view In their strip-Doonesbury comes to mind). Many readers keep their political views to themselves and know that there is are many places to post them. I keep mum on my political opinions in posts. My advice to you is to steady your knees, for your knee-jerk reaction is revealing being more a jerk than having good reflexes.
If China and Russia are extreme left, then Einstein was right, space is curved, and these countries are so far to the left that they’re coming around from the extreme right side. The fact that they called themselves “socialist” or even “communist” doesn’t mean they were either of these things. Russia and China are much closer to the classic fascist dictatorship, or even a non-hereditary version of monarchy, in which a small, self-perpetuating elite runs the country by fiat. Economically, China is closer to Ayn Rand’s ideal of unregulated, cut-throat monopoly capitalism that the US or Europe have been in centuries. The old USSR was best described as a form of state capitalism, in which the Party owned the factories and the markets (the fact that they even had markets—even if those markets often had no goods to sell—means they were pursuing a capitalist model, not a communist one).
FWIW, I doubt communism could actually ever work outside a tight-knit religious community (see the book of Acts, for instance). Bit of a problem for ol’ Karl there, as he hated religion…
Maybe because exoticdoc2 has posted what can factually proven, as proven by what Nabuquduriuzdur posted in the EPAs corruption by those environmentalists who think that destroying our economy saves ‘the environment’. Also, tossing the term ‘right-winger’ about like so much confetti exposes an opinion driven post. There’s a big difference.
