I bought a new tablet with a similar thin screen. It wasn’t very expensive, and it’s quite portable.Unfortunately, when I try to use it, it has lines across it that affect the text.

Remington Travel-Riter Deluxe in original false-leather casing. With red/black ribbons and spare(s). Takes dust on the bottom of my wardrobe. No Wifi, no bluetooth, no spell-check.

I just donated my grandmother’s typewriter (1909) to a local musuem. It had a double shift – shift once for capital letters, and again for numbers and punctuation. Just about impossible to build up any speed, I imagine.

When we cleaned out my grandmother’s house after she died in 2002, one of my cousin’s 10-11 year old daughters wanted to keep “that computer on the desk in the upstairs bedroom.” It was a beaut—1930s or 40s vintage, still completely functional—and I’m glad it stayed in the family.

Nazz….It’s very easy…. this may sound complicated but only cos I typed out every step (sorry if too much so but I don’t know how much you know.)

First, if you don’t have a suitable picture on your computer, find something on the web, and right-click and save it to your My Pictures folder..

It can be bigger than an avatar…. but remember it will be displayed very small.

Then go to the upper left corner of your comics page, and click the link that says “My Account.”OR click the grey question mark by any of your comments, and on the resulting page, click “Update profile”(also in the upper left corner.)

Either will open your Account page….Click “Update Avatar.”A little window will open… click the button that says “Browse”…. Another window will display the My Pictures folder on your computer.

Click the picture you want, and click OK or Open….that window will close and you can click “Submit.”

GoComics will do the rest.Sometimes right away… but lately, sometimes not for hours. If you have any problems with these instructions, you know lotsa places to find me.

BTW… I’m old too….I was merely joking about a tablet.

    The original, non I “pad.”

SusanSunshine! That’s a TABLET!!! – At least that is what it says on the school supply list..I learned on mom’s Remington. Not portable. Unless you were into weight lifting.
