Is that 3% of the annual spending total, or 3% of the $16 Trillion Economy?-the DOD “furloughs” are temporary, not actual “layoffs” and any “lost wages” will undoubtedly be recovered when the new CR is passedfor FY 2013.-What a Phony Democrat-Scare-Tactic to achieve another GOP “cave” to Dems’ “spend-spend-spend” policy.

Obama’s false claim to have already “cut” $2.5 trillion is based on counting the end of the Iraq & Afghanistan warsas “cuts”…not ethical accounting…because no funding was ever set up for the next 10 years for wars.Other false claims are based on lowering fundings 8 to 10 years in the future….unethical because each year the elected congress/prez decide annual spending.-EVERY YEAR THE GOVERNMENT SPENDS MORE and the DEFICITS grow bigger and the DEBT increases…since January 2009 the debt grew $6 trillion and CBO predicts the current $16.5 Trillion will be $20 Trillion in 2020.-are you all incompetent in mathematics?there have been NO CUTS in spending totals, annually.

Howie, get a grip. Defense spending was approx. 300 billion in 2000. Now it is 700 billion. Don’t you think we can take a whack at the DOD budget and use it somewhere else? We could even do something radical like pay down the deficit with the money.

“please tell us how much is being wasted on the failed green energy companies in just four years.”

I understand where your going with this and to a point I agree. While we are in this economic nightmare I contend we suspend pretty much any NEW technology investments unless there are programs already in existence that have been showing results or promise. I’m very much in favor of looking at funding programs and seeing how many originate on K street and are just sweetheart deals for lobbyists. Cut them alone and you save billions.

BTW: the way sequester will work, and time frames, for some agencies the cut will actually be over 17% reduction in funding, that’s a pretty serious “hit”.

If it’s so insignificant, why defend it? What good could it possibly do?
