WHY is Sam reading Scottish Newspapers? (Like it, by the way.)

This is too rich! Fearless Fosdick referenced in Dick Tracy? Sam reading a Scottish comic strip? Lizz mugging for the camera, trying to upstage Sam? A medieval tournament in Locher Auditorium? And the J-Man taking Crypto out for pastries? Good grief!

Any chance puzzle guy is another alias for the escaped BlackJack? ALSO— a/o yesterday, I still didn’t see hide nor hair of Yahoo! group. Usually in top 1/2 dozen when I do search, right by author “Dick Francis”.

All, I just wanted to take a second to point out how fortunate we are to have the new Team Tracy at the helm. We were dazzled by their work (art, story, continuity, everything) when they first took over, and they been nothing but consistently excellent ever since!

Just think back to what things were like a mere two years ago…

Before he came to Dick Tracy’s city, Sam was a copp in a lot of different places. Apparently one of those was Scotland.

Wonder if the Locher Auditorium is where Dicky got chased all over the place by a baddie while the audience was full of Naperville cops?

I wonder if the DT writers and artists, with the permission of the Capp estate of course, would consider doing a Fearless Fosdick strip for old times sake.

Please correct me if I’m wrong but as I recall Mr. Gould himself did a parody of “PEANUTS” called “SAWDUST”

The medieval tournament thing sounds more like a small brief on the back of the entertainment section than a page one headline. ;)

Plenty of clues in panel three. Try a Google search on the first word of the headline, the last word of the talk bubble and our new villains favorite thing.

After the Sweatbaux storyline, this amusing little tale is quite enjoyable for it’s nice to have a bit of levity to lighten the mood once in awhile. Thanks to StaggerLee, and DaveGlass for the information on the Broons as well. I’ve added that to my growing list of comic strips now.

For Fearless Fosdick, merely go to the Lil Abner comic (on this web site) and click back on the calendar. He should show up about January this year (guess) The complete available strip begins on 5 15 2012, so you only have to click through about ten months.Fearless Fosdick – brought to you by Wildroot Creme Oil.

For Fearless Fosdick in action, go to the Lil Abner strip and go to the calendar and go to Nov 27, 2012 and click foreward (or back) from there.

In addition to being featured from time to time as a strip-within-a-strip in “Li’l Abner”, Fearless Fosdick also appeared on his own every Sunday as a spokestoon for Wildroot Cream Oil (a men’s hair tonic—I haven’t seen it in years, though it’s apparently still available, but it was one of the big three back then).

I was looking through the Kohl’s circular that came in my newspaper and I saw this:http://media.kohls.com.edgesuite.net/is/image/kohls/1310625?wid=1000&hei=1000&op_sharpen=1

It struck me as looking a lot like Mr. Jumble in his message to Tracy, except that his ’stach is upside down.

Haven’t yet mastered adding images to this page, so I can’t try to prove my point. But, IMHO, Gould’s Lizz wins hands down for sexiest depiction. (Not that there’s anything wrong with Joe’s version!)

And one final reflection: I thought she looked even better as a blonde from her earliest appearances in the 1950’s through the early 60’s.
