I have a number of squirrels who come to my deck to eat the mixed nuts I put out. Believe me, NONE go through any thought process as they shovel them in. One got so fat, when he picked up a nut, his protruding stomach made it pop out of his little hands. That was the limiting process in eating.
Humans, BTW, don’t seem to have that same limitation.

I used to have a squirrel that would come up and tap on the window when the bird feeder needed refilled.
