How is a drone any different than the total destruction of Dresden and Mannheim during WW2, or indiscriminate B52 strikes during Vietnam? At least the drone has a smaller kill radius than either of those and it is a lot more selective with its targets. A lone sniper picking off soldiers one by one from a hidden location would be a better comparison and we have used those ever since we have had rifles!
Something in the billions to build GTMO, let alone maintain it, and there never was a legal basis for building it in the first place. Our “supermax” prisons on the mainland (GTMO IS “US Territory”!!), were more than capable of handling the prisoners, but the BUSHCO bozos didn’t want to risk anything that would comply with the Constitution, and international law, or Geneva conventions.
BTW, met a general who was “in charge” down there for a while , and he didn’t see any reason for building it either.

I still feel we should bring them to our max prisons and give them the kinds of trials for which we were once respected as a nation of laws and justice. Something of an illusion if one reads enough history, but it is a standard we should seek to set. @ Dltroutma – I know few soldiers who believe Gitmo makes the US safer or more credible in the eyes of the western world or elsewhere.Respectfully,C.

I saw a picture of the prisoners at Gitmo, and I was surprised that there were so many. The current count is 167.
