Isn’t there an knowitall computer thingy that can be asked for help? When up against a wall you punch a hole in it and crawl through to the other side. Or punch your way through the problem. Didn’t Flask consult it? Doesn’t everybody know about it? Help is where you look for it and sometimes the last place you look for it. Is this toy available to anybody and everybody? Blessed Be

New auction this week. Please bid on Maude, or buy the print. Help Aaron cover his hospital bills and continue drawing Endtown.

Now, what could Mallard be studying so intensely that he’d be willing to give up control of security to the High Council?

I get the impression that Mallard and the Doctor are two of the founders of Endtown.

I just find it alarming that Mallard doesn’t give a sh**. Duck responsibility, indeed!

You’ll notice that Mallard’s “contact” was “our security chief,” who “died on a mission a few months back.” If this means Flask—-and I can’t think of who else it would mean—-it means Mallard doesn’t know anything about what Aaron Marx did with Flask afterwards…

This reminds me of the first story arc. Mutants trying so hard to be human, even in the face that they’re not human or animal, but something in the middle.

RobertNowall In answer to your question would I ride with Mallard. No I would drive he would ride. He is too easily distracted by shiny things. I stay pretty focused on the task at hand.So the rats Security answer to the High Council. Allgood has several members sympathetic to his cause on the High Council. So the armed force takes command from the High Council controlled by Allgood. Basically Allgood is in charge by proxy. He influences the High Council who then orders the Security. This still leaves hanging who is in command of the rats directly like Flask was. That is the one who can gum up the works. The High Council can order but if the Head of Security decides not to act that can change the game plan. That one person holds the future of Endtown. On another note, Mallard is a bit wrong. That is not how a democracy works. It is what happens to a democracy when no one pays attention to what is going on or when seeing something wrong going on do nothing to stop it.

Of course, it’s not because somebody is telling the Security Rats to blaze away with their guns and arrest somebody who doesn’t conform—-it’s that they can do this. If Allgood didn’t exist, sooner or later someone else would—-so much for Endtown being a democracy.#I wish I could do italics, but all I can manage is bold face. Anybody want to advise me?

I see a need to put Wally in charge of security. We know that he is an effective fighter when properly motivated and that he has a strrong conscience with convictions. Plus who better to handle rats than a feisty cat?

If they were in a democracy then 4 people couldn’t have been arrested without just cause, this is just a dictatorship at this point.

Mallard is amongst my least favorite characters. Allgood being the very worst, Didn’t like Flask until after her change, and Jackrabbit seem like a hack too. It’s the ones who try to stir up trouble.

I remember an old song from the Beach Boys Surfs Up album circa 1969.Student Demonstration TimeThe violence spread down south where the Jackson State brothers learned not to say nasty things about southern policeman mothers. Nothing much was said about it and really next to nothing done. The pen is mightier than the sword but it is no match for the gun.Endtown is on the brink.

Allgood is All-bad. The people of End town really do seem to be folks that just want to live and love and laugh and don’t want to have to worry that there is a government, so they haven’t much noticed what has been building. If this is the 1st real action that has harmed good citizens, then they didn’t have much real need to pay attention. It may take more than the treatment of our 3, that we care about to really get their attention. WHen the trial takes place, Then they will begin to see why it is important to watch what the ones in power are doing. Maybe Wally or Doc will figure out Who the head of security or head of the council is, and get the ball rolling that way.

When Allgood sincerely believes that he is doing the right, even noble thing, and it is NOT the right thing, and he has all the power behind him, then it becomes a dictatorship real fast.

When those that believe that Doing the “RIght” thing, even if others don’t agree is more prone to corruption that a person who knows that most people are basic-ly good and don’t want someone else’s Ideal forced on them, is a better leader. Wally doesn’t want the job, but he doesn’t have an “agenda” I don’t think Linda would have one either and she does have a taste for negociation.

Uh-oh. A police force that’s responsible ONLY to those in power tends to become a club for enforcing their beliefs in short order…
