“Very true, it was Bush the nincompoop that built it. The drones program.”

Yes he did. And like so many of G.W’s stupid ideas, Obama has embraced it and expanded it’s use. I guess that makes him just as stupid as Bush. Don’t get me started on the Bush started it so it’s okay for Obama to continue it. The middle east is a snake pit that we should have avoided tenaciously and should abandon back to the theocratic partisan feuding they have carried on for a few thousand years…

It would be nice if the discussion about drones centered around how/if it ought to be used. If it is used at all, there should be rigorous guidelines about who is targeted and possible collateral deaths.-There should also be specific oversight by appropriate congressional representatives. Whatever secrecy is required, so be it, but some members of congress must be informed.-Not to mention the use of drones on our borders and internally to spy on Americans.-But no, it’s much more convenient to have yet another excuse to bash Obama.

posters who hate Bush for going to war against Terrorists and governments that support terrorism….what is your solution, your answer to America’s response to 9/11/01 and 3000 dead inside America….by the hands of Mideast terrorists and Mideast Global Jihad?????-IMO, self-defense and national defense are moral acts. When enemies kill Americans in a declared war, IMO, it is justifiable and moral to start killing those who swear that they will not change or quit.

@ disgustingFrance took a small step and went into Mali instead of us having to go into another war.I hope that happens every time a 3rd world country needs military assistance.

The idiot right has no problem with carpet bombing, “shock and awe”, thousands of collateral damage deaths, including those kids, but has a problem with Obama, yes, continuing a drone program, but with far stricter protocols on target selection and firing orders?

While I don’t like the idea of armed drones, and “error problems”, I’ve seen them used more effectively, and with less “error” under Obama, and yes, letting the military choose targets. It IS a war!

Bush/Cheney turned Iraq and Afghanistan, and yes, parts of Pakistan, into “free fire zones” like we had in ’Nam. Obama is getting us out, reducing casualties, on both sides, dramatically, and waging the war with a little intelligence, and use of reliable intelligence. HOW DARE HE!!

Now using the “Patriot Act”, that REPUBLICAN wet dream at home? THAT needs to be reigned in.

Meanwhile here in the good old USA, T shirts and bumper stickers that say: “LAPD I am not Christopher Dorner don’t shoot me” are selling like hotcakes to African American men and people who own pickups resembling a gray Toyota.

Just as the police have asked the TV helicopters to move away so Dorner can’t see what they’re doing on TV, so too is it “unwise” for every element of government intelligence to be given to the media, or some members of House and Senate committees who’ve proven their idiocy defies belief, like Rand Paul, Coburn, Issa, Inhofe and several others, almost all on the “right” side of the aisle.

Mike, no I don’t like section 1021 or 1022 relative to unrestricted authorities, which in “signing statment” made famous by Bush, Obama said he would NOT enforce at home, or against American CITIZENS (like suspension of habeus). But, when a law passes the Senate 98 to 1, and some, like Feinstein, try to insert amendments to protect our rights, who is really to blame for “infringements”?

Please, note I described specific, consistently, outrageous Republicans who’ve participated in, or written, persistent outrageous legislation.

Once again, also, I do NOT like drones, because, especially with thermal imaging and idiot commanders often telling their “pilots” to ‘shoot first, ask questions later", mistakes can be made, and have been. But, fewer have been made despite Obama’s increased use, and also if we really believe Pakistan wants those Al Qaeda and Taliban running around on their side of the border, when they swear to overthrow THAT government as well, then “intelligence” isn’t operating with some folks.
