A small step for man, a giant leap for set decorators.

I’ve always thought it would have been a lot of work to fake all that. The filming could have been done, but there were a lot of people involved that would have to be kept quiet.

There are scenes in several movies where inappropriate vehicles and people show up accidentally in the background. But you’re so focused on the plot and characters in the forground that you seldom notice the errors.

My favorite was Ben Hur where many of the gladiators were wearing wrist watches.

Or the red pickup truck behind the parade-ground troops in The Alamo just before the final assault in the bright sunshine. (The battle took place at dawn in a drizzle.)f The truck was always hard to see on TV but not the movie theaters. I think it has been digitally removed now..Has the format been changed? I have the most user unfriendly one ever, requiring scrolling down from the top each time there is a new selection, then scrolling down the selection to the cartoon itself, Yet I have seen no mention or discussion of this all day.

It’s interesting that when Mythbusters examined the way the astronauts moved on the moon, it was very hard, if not impossible, to produce—and certainly not obvious how to make it look real.
