Scooter’s a rare Louisiana Cat ahoula hound !

It’s just a sideshow.

Um…. that really isn’t Scooter…

That’s his half-brother, Here-Kitty-Kitty…. same mother, different litter, different fathers.(Oh shush!…. Dogs don’t think that way…)

And actually, that wasn’t his given name…First, his parents called him Oswald.Then his humans named him Rex. (Humans are so arrogant — they very seldom ask the dog parents what the puppy’s real name is.)

But by the time he started to understand human speech, he’d become used to people seeing him and cooing “Here, kitty, kitty!”Then, of course, they always giggle or laugh.

So of course, he assumed that was his name….and he’s proud that it’s one that makes people so happy.

This little fellow has a similar story….Guess what HE’S called!

( well, the English translation, anyway…

cos his name is in Japanese.)

Meanwhile…. I’m gonna wander over to the Tiki….It’s been a while.

I promised the Monkey I’d drop off some banana cream pies…the Monday special is gonna be a free dessert with your the Yak ‘n’ Dak platter.

All you can eat barbecued yak ribs (which is usually only one, anyway) beans, slaw, and a banana daiquiri…. PLUS a slice of banana cream pie!

Linguist — I suppose you’re right…then again, that’s a human viewpoint.

True, being called something so feline is a bit insulting….but it’s only humans who call him that.

Dogs really love to please humans… it’s their nature.He thinks their smirking giggles are a sign of pleasure…. and it gives him a vague sense of accomplishment.Meanwhile… his dog friends call him Oswald….. always have.

Good sleuthing for the Japanese! Actually the stories say his name in English is “Heart-kun” … but “kun” isn’t English…so ???

Great comments all! even if hard to read when they’re all strung so far apart. I’ll call GC later but (having printer problems that want to keep putting me in some kind of “sleep” mode). PC will be out of warranty this June so I’d better do an extra good backup.

My first thought on his “marking” was doing it the normal dog way (walking might help) before I noticed the sillouette. Best of those I’ve seen (other than today’s photos) was the cow with the geography. surely you’ve all seen that!

For lunch/supper today I had a whole package of spinach with a little of my vinaigrette and a good size serving of my hummus with 4 crackers. Hummus that I made does not look pretty but not 1/2 bad (never had it before I made it.G’night all!

I just got back to the Tiki with yet more pies, and checked the smoker…

The Monkey made a LOT of ribs….There are still enough left for tomorrow, even…The Yak ‘N’ Dak Platter will still be on the menu…but the Yak ‘N’ Dak ‘N’ Pie…with a free slice of banana cream pie…. is only till midnight tonight….

I can only make so many pies!
