Gramma Evie: Joan and Wally are going to Paris at the end of March...you don't have to worry, I'll be back before then. Val: Good. Because if you're having so much fun with Arnold in Atlanta that you decide to STAY...and leave ME with all five kids... Val: I'll be plotting ways to get my inheritance EARLY.

You tell her, Val. And Joan and Wally better bring back decent souvenirs.
psychlady about 11 years ago
Souvenirs?? They better bring her an expensive gift for taking on five kids!!
flagfly about 11 years ago
What does she have to inherit?

Good thing, because 5 kids will send you to an early grave. ;-) Just kidding… The 2 oldest should be given more responsibilities. They won’t have any time to get into trouble and it will make them better people. Oh, who am I fooling?? This is a comic – they’ll all just be out of control! LOL

@flagfly – Evie won the lottery some time ago, so there should be something left for her beneficiaries,
alondra about 11 years ago
She will not be back in time. These trips of hers take months. As for Holly and Alix showing responsibility, Alix maybe, Holly no way.

1) I think Evie is using up any inheritance. 2) She should bring Arnold back with her. :)

Were any of you as bratty or out of control as Holly or Max?

Poor Val. Her new headline pic is really bad.

If I were Val and Evie didn’t come back in time, I’d just go tell my sister that she was going to have to cancel her dream trip to Paris because Mommie Dearest couldn’t be bothered to keep her word.
Then I’d change all the locks on the doors, and tell Evie I hope she and Arnold will be very happy together. :)

hum- I am counting – one is an older teen (with a job?), another is a young teen.. then one is very bright second or third grader? – there are the two very young kids.. I count three able to help a lot if they want to keep eating under her roof. The older can do some of the shopping, certainly bring home pizza sometimes… the other two can each pick one of small ones to take care of… No problem!

what a mean thing for Val to say to her mother!!
FigwitsMom about 11 years ago
All you people who keep saying put Luci and Max in daycare….Just exactly WHO is going to pay for this daycare? I thought one of the reasons family was pitching in was to save Joan and Wally some money.

When I visit my lover, I always plan for at least a month (to make the travel worthwhile). I divorced my X when my 4 were just starting HS (or about to) and I managed without help from outside (even tho’ some parents lived in same state then). Kids are all doing fine and 3 of them have 2 kids each – all in different states. I visit (or they come here) when possible but I never travel now just to see THEM. Skype works for all that now (and even with him when we’re apart). In most families that I know, grandparents are NOT official sitters!

Why is she packing her pink vibrator when she is going to see her lover?

Grandma has been warned.

3 of them have 2 kids, all in different states? Can you say abandonment? (Snicker!) I still think they all manage to get to France!
QuietStorm27 about 11 years ago
I do it everyday. I have 5 children at home, and helped raise a 6th who is away at college.

“Mercenary isn’t she…”I think she’s talking about doing her mom in because she’d be so outraged, and thereby getting her inheritance earlier as a form of collateral damage. (She’s speaking hyperbolically, as it were.)
