The first order of business should be to send a couple of cars to watch his house.

Where’s the APB here? You have to wonder though, how can someone known by so many in the town get away with this kind of thing for as long as 70 years or so?

But, don’t worry, Toad won’t be the NEXT “skeleton in Sweaty’s closet”, Tracy is on the case now!

Sweatbox, your timing is excellent. Kidnapping Toad just as Tracy and Lee are at your home? Better hope they find you before Mole does. If not, better make more room in that mausoleum of yours…

So,Why didn’t they SHOW Sweatbox ACTUALLY kidnapping Toad and Mole seeing it? Get the feeling a day or two’s strips were rejected by Tribune Media?

That was classic “I’ve got free candy in my van, kid” stuff. I’d be almost surprised if a streetwise kid like Toad went for that.

    Sweatbox - A ’ FOLK HERO ’ in the MAKING ?-——————————————————————————————————————

Coldsooner : " Doggone I want to like this guy, I realy doBut it’s just too soon. Kind of a coin toss on how he’sgoing to turn out "

Slymongoose : " Exactly he may be a really good guy,but we just don’t know. I wonder if someone in his organization is the naughty one ? "

cpalneresq : " So maybe Sweatbox in not the villain in the story.I’d find that refreshing !

Jim Douglas : " They are just making it look that way,

it’s not what you are thinking "

Is that a roll out of ‘emotional’ involvement – ’ building ’ there ?Phrasings, like ‘blessings’, with many a sympathetic ear They really like the character, a shapeshifting move to Folk Hero status ?Casting a first shadow of a possible Cult following ?

A Christophor Dormer kind of thing ? One Glazy Eyed supporter, of the latter, (carried away) said : ‘So proud of you Cris Dormer . . . fighting the fu****g power’.We don’t know yet, if Sweatbox’s good or bad, but we’re ‘kinda rooting for him’ !

And so too in 1944, it had been with Flattop, an unexplained depth of feelings. And Gould and TMS unexpectedly were flooded with flowers, wreaths and telegrams of deep regret. Readers emotionally ‘invested’ in the character, didn’t want the man to go.

And as you ’ tune in ’ with surprise, to the stired expressions, you likely come away thinking this could be a similar phenomena. Rare, surprising, highly unusual, but History has had (on occasion), a way of repeating itself

Check you Florist, you never know the impulse that may hit you ! (?)

Maybe I’m carried away too . . . ? orIs Sweatbox the NEW Flattop ?

let’s see.. i believe i called this one like two days ago (tho noah wasnt in the backseat to grab toad… or maybe he WAS and TMS didnt allow it to see the light of day) either way, sweatbox wont be long for this world once tracy (and the mole!) get their hands on him.. off to prison, and no matter what physical condition he is in, exercise wise, sweatbox wont last long in the pokey!

If Sweatbox did kidnap Toad, it would have to be one of the dumbest kidnappings ever. He told his assistant he was going to meet Toad and Toad is intimately linked to people with direct link the police and part of an on-going investigation so would pull in police involvement quickly.

I think it’s more likely Team Tracy didn’t didn’t show the abduction because it would have been a “How-To” strip.

Will Sweaty be taking Toad to his home? He’d probably be taking her to the vault, but since the cops were all over it, he might change his routine. And I wonder what Mole is doing. He might be trying to comfort Mrs. Spencer, or he might go looking for Sweatbox himself. And if Mole gets his hands on Sweaty, he’d snap him like a breadstick!

One more thing — could young George Tawara have been a victim who escaped from Sweatbox back in the prison camp? Any accusations he’d make against Sweatbox would have been dismissed as just a troublemaking (add racial slur here) kid.

The Baux family mansion looks a good deal like a mausoleum itself, when viewed in full profile that way. Not much character, just square stone walls.

There is nothing entertaining in a story about a violent crime perpetrated upon a child. I can only hope that there is an error in what Mole reported.

Here’s a thought. It’s not Sweatbox if Tracy and Lee just finished speaking with him. And some were commenting on a lack of continuity-two different cars in scenes that are minutes apart. Two possibilities: 1)unless the brother died in custody-how do we know he’s dead? 2) Sweatbox has a look alike relative who is the actual killer from 70 years ago and who’s been dumping bodies in the family tomb. Doesn’t have to be a twin. My sister and I are two years apart and, unless you know us, we confuse people who don’t. It’s not an evil twin cop-out because this does happen.

I am not well-disposed toward Simon Baux. I hope The Mole (not his mild-mannered alter ego, Mr. Mole) gets his powerful hands on Sweaty before Tracy can rescue the old offensive offender.

WTG, BB! We ALL miss your creativity! I love it! You know, and a lot of you do remember, SDM didn’t exist then; it was only MPH defending Locher. Now, when someone pokes a little fun at DT of old, SDM jumps up to defend him! And if someone told SDM that MPH passed gas, inside of 2 minutes Matthew would reply! You following this, Sydney? Otto?

Why do you defend Locher, he, with his man-faced, cowhipped women and his Tracy who’s face got hit with a flatiron art and his terrible writing was the worst “artist”< alleged and “writer”< also alleged, that ever cursed this strip

…how do you abduct somebody into the back seat when there’s no one there? And for poorly eyesighted Mole to be able to confirm it’s an abduction and idenify Sweatbox he’d have to be so close no way Sweatie WOULD abduct her…so I’m still guessing she got in voluntarily…..why wouldn’t she anyways? She didn’t seem the least scared of him, and the sign-up papers were there. Anyways, stretching the events of this story over 70 years while not doing the same of the ages of it’s participants, kind of makes intelligently guessing who the real killer is impossible. But anything is better than the upcoming event; the return of Moon Maid (good) and half the board of grown men behaving like a 10 year old sneaking a peek at his first Playboy……geez, she’s only a cartoon!
